Racing: A Way of Life

By: Abigail Polries

Many who know me already know that I spend an abundance of my summer at many different race tracks. Early on in life a close person in my life introduced me to the racing world. It then became something that is very important to me and eventually became important to my brother as he began to race a few years back.

With this life being such a large part of my summer I started to write for the Foster County Independent about the races at the Jamestown Speedway. I watched, took pictures, and spoke to local drivers every week to get the inside scoop. This only fueled my love for the dirt sport, I then began to look at ways that one day I could eventually make it my career and continue following what I love.

Northern Plains and Dakota Valley Electric have made it possible for me to continue gaining knowledge and experience in my field of study as well as my love for racing. Look for our center pages in September’s North Dakota Living magazine to read about Jamestown Speedway and dirt racing life.
